MTS Launches 3 New BlackBerry Data Plans Starting From Rs. 399

MTS the CDMA Mobile and Data Services of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) today expand its BlackBerry plans portfolio with the launch of 3 New BlackBerry Data Plans for its Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers in India.

MTS India’s 3 new BlackBerry Data plans are – BlackBerry Internet Services (BIS) for Rs. 399/month, BlackBerry Enterprise Services (BES) for Rs.897/month and BlackBerry Enterprise Services Plus (BES Plus) for Rs. 899/month for prepaid subscribers. For postpaid subscribers all plan will comes with monthly rental of Rs. 399 and Rs. 899 respectively.

MTS launched its BlackBerry Services in June, 2011 with Voice and Data Combo Plans as we shared on TelecomTalk. Now the operator expands its BlackBerry portfolio with 3 new Data only Plans. MTS India’s new BlackBerry plans are comparatively not much competitive or attractive as available with all leading GSM and CDMA operators of India.

BSNL Launches New 2G Special Plan for Senior Citizens In Kerala

In a bid to offer seamless connectivity at affordable price, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) announced the launch ‘New 2G Mobile Special plan for Senior Citizen’ in Kerala telecom circles.

This plan will cost Rs. 60 and provides, talk value of Rs.20, Free SMS facility (200 SMS for 1st month after that 50 SMS/month) and 1p/2sec tairrf for 1st month. With this plan senior citizen can talk @30p/min to any BSNL number within Kerala circle (Mobile/Landline) from 5 PM to 10 PM (all days).

The Plan also enables its subscribers to make calls to 5 Local Number of any at reduced call rates of 20p/min to BSNL network within Kerala, 30p/min to other network within Kerala and 30p/min to one BSNL number outside Kerala/anywhere in India.

New 2G Prepaid plan for Senior citizens (60 years and above) is introduced in Kerala Circle w.e.f 28/11/2011.

BSNL Chennai Launches 3 New Broadband Plans

India’s largest Broadband service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has come up with new ADSL broadband Plans BBG 500 CS5, BB Home ULD 750 CS7, BB Home ULD 900 CS8 in Chennai telecom circle.

All new ADSL Broadband plans are effective from today and will be available for the next 90 days as promotional offer in Chennai circle. BSNL’s new Broadband Plan BBG 500 CS5 offers download speed Upto 2 Mbps and has a monthly rental of justRs. 500 and offers “Night Unlimited” benefit.

BB Home ULD 750 CS7 plan offers 2 Mbps download speedupto 8 GB and 512 Kbps thereafter and has a monthly rental of Rs. 700 . Where as BB Home ULD 900 CS8 Plan offers 4 Mbps download speed upto 8 GB and 512 Kbps thereafter.

Indians Use Opera Mini Second Most in the World

Opera Mini userbase in India now ranks second amongst 22 countries ahead of the US and Europe, Russia currently leads the Opera Mini userbase.

India crossed the one million mark of Opera Mini users in March 2008.

India is now the second largest Opera Mini userbase in world since August 11. The Opera Mini browser witnessed a data usage of nearly 180 million MB from India during the year.

Apart from Google, Facebook and Youtube, websites such as vuclip.com, songs.pk, zedge.net rank amongst the top 10 websites accessed from Opera Mini users in India.

Nokia’s range of handsets continues to rule the roost in India. The report, which reveals trends in mobile internet usage across several countries.
